Well, I guess we officially have a kindergartener on our hands! He has been so ready and so exited to start for several weeks now. He went for his kindergarten assessment day today and seemed to really enjoy himself. No tears, just lots of big and bright smiles! Today was just a half day and gave the kiddos a chance to get adjusted to kindergarten and also gave the teachers a chance to see where all the kids were academically. Nate said they asked him to write his numbers, letters and shapes and asked him to read a book to them if he could. He must have read the first book well because they gave him a second book to read, too. Way to go Einstein!!! They also did some coloring, had circle time and ate lunch. I was surprised when I checked his lunchbox to see that he had eaten his entire lunch... I was afraid he would be too busy talking to eat. After school, we met Daddy at McDonald's for a chocolate milkshake for Nate and lunch for the rest of us. It was too cute listening to him tell about his day! We go next Wednesday to meet his teacher and he starts school "fulltime" next Thursday. I can't wait to see how much he learns and grows this year. It's going to be so much fun! Someone please remind me of that next Thursday morning after we drop him off and I most likely burst into tears...
